The new season is coming, and it’s always a time for changes and a new experience. Variations of hairstyles in fall/winter 2018-2019 please us with their diversity. So lovers of experiments will be satisfied — there will be bold colors and shapes in fashion. Besides, there’s also something universal yet trendy for everyone this season: layers, slight negligence, and the return of one forgotten detail from the past . . .

Best Hair Trends of Autumn/Winter 2018–2019 for Those Who Long for Changes

Every year millions of stylists and designers strive to create a vivid look with the help of extraordinary solutions. Let’s review the most fashionable haircuts of the autumn/winter season 2018-2019, as well as discuss the key trends in hairstyling!

1. Fringed Bobs — I Woke Up Like This!

Messy, shaggy cuts with curtain bangs will be huge this autumn and winter! They’re convenient, classy, and easy to style. Bangs with a middle part is the Brigitte Bardot-inspired hair trend, and it’s still relevant — isn’t it impressive? It seems like you woke up in the morning with a ready hairdo. Think about interesting tones for coloring your strands, and the hairstyle will lead your whole look to a new level. Soft coloring in ombre/balayage technique will also be an excellent choice.

2. Claw Clips — The 90s Are Back!

Women whose youth fell on the late 80s and mid-90s were sure in the early 2000s that high-waisted jeans, multi-colored plastic bracelets, colorful cotton overalls, scrunchies, and claw clips for hair would never come back into style. Well, they were mistaken. The fashion for hair crab claws was revived recently by the famous hairstylist Guido Palau in collaboration with the Alexander Wang brand. On the showing of the Alexander Wang autumn/winter 2018–2019 collection, all the hairstyles were made with the help of these accessories. So, now you can also buy a claw clip or find one at home (on the shelf in your bathroom, for example) and become a real fashionista yourself.

3. Party Wigs — A Little Party Never Killed Nobody!

It’s not that I encourage you to wear a wig (although it’s warm and convenient in the cold season . . . just kidding), but some options will definitely help you create an outrageous look, especially if you don’t want to radically change your hair color. You can also try this hair trend on for a disco or costume party.

4. Natural-Looking Extensions — Rapunzel, Is That You?

Hallelujah! According to beauty experts, girls who have very thin hair or those who can’t wait to grow it long can finally and shamelessly resort to hair extensions. They can be clip-in, micro-bead, sew-in, tape-in, or fusion extensions — depending on your hair type and on how long you want to wear them. Follow all the instructions and tips your stylist will give you to keep your new hair looking good: wash it with special shampoos for hair extensions, be sure to use a special conditioner, and, of course, don’t overdry it with a hairdryer.

5. Shades of Auburn — Take Summer with You!

When the weather gets colder, the popularity of warm hair shades grows. Auburn, caramel, copper, honey, and cinnamon hair tones evoke warm associations and pleasant memories of the sun and summer season. These colors look great on waves and curly hair, and in combination with layered haircuts. Also, with the main auburn undertone, the combination of darker and lighter strands looks awesome and really stylish.

6. DNA Braid — Recall Your Biology Classes!

Braids haven’t gone out of fashion for several seasons, but the techniques of their weaving are becoming ever more sophisticated. So, now DNA braids (viral braids) are gaining popularity and have already become one of the hottest trends of fall/winter 2018–2019. It’s much easier to make them than it might seem at first glance. First, separate the hair into three sections. Then, put thin strands from the right and the left parts crosswise, and twist them around the central section. Such a hairstyle looks fabulous on rainbow hair and hair with highlights, flattering the shine of colors.

7. Chocolate Brown — Natural Is the New Black!

One of the trendiest hair colors of the upcoming fall and winter season is deep chocolate. Auburn or amber strands are also welcome, giving the hair beautiful highlights. Chocolate brown can make your eyes brighter, no matter whether they’re green or brown. And depending on the skin color, it can create an excellent play of contrasts or enhance the bronze tone. In general, it’s unique, beautiful, and versatile.

8. Experiments with Colors — Try If You Dare!

Sometimes every girl feels that she desperately needs some radical changes in life. So why not start small and add some freshness and bright colors to your hairstyle? Holographic, pixel, mermaid, unicorn hair, prints, and patterns — all of these techniques are not only the hottest trends in fall/winter 2018–2019, but also look incredibly interesting, original, and extravagant, giving glamour to any style.

9. Middle Part — All Genius Is Simple!

Fashion continues its struggle for naturalness and minimalism. A voluminous bouffant and ideally curled locks are again replaced by middle parting. Despite all its simplicity, the middle-part hairstyle looks stylish and refined, giving a hint of luxurious negligence to the look. But before mastering a new trend, define your face shape: the middle part looks good on round- and oval-shaped faces, but it won’t suit triangular or diamond faces, unless you wear bangs or a layered haircut with strands falling on your face.

10. Embracing Gray Locks — Wear Them Proudly!

Women always used to be afraid of this hair color — though bright and unusual, it was considered a sign of fading beauty and youth. Well, in autumn/winter 2018–2019 you can stop dying your hair and accept your natural silver color because it’s fabulous, elegant, and super trendy! One important note: gray hues on younger girls aren’t fashionable this season (as we mentioned in the article about not-so-fresh trends), while natural gray is as hot as ever.

It’s said that a new hairstyle means a new life. If so, then you can start your life anew every Monday this fall and winter. Braid your hair, color it with flashy tones, or cut it off and start wearing bangs — just as you’ve always wanted, but weren’t sure. And remember that trends of the upcoming season encourage inconstancy and an open mind!
