The best thing about this hair hack is that you only need one elastic and a minute of your time. Start off by gathering your hair into a ponytail. Then, take a single hair tie and put it around the base of your pony once by feeding one end through the other, just like in the video. Basically, all you have to do is wrap the tie around your hair instead of pulling it through the tie.
The secret behind the perky pony is in the tight hair tie that holds your hair together and prevents it from sagging at the bottom. So, make sure you secure your elastic tightly around your hair to get a single loop – it’ll be the base of your future ponytail hairstyle. For a stronger grip, you can also tie another elastic to the first one. The trick works great on thick and heavy hair.
Lastly, tie your hair with the elastic like a normal ponytail by wrapping it around your locks twice and pulling your pony through it. If you want to add extra hold, slide a couple of bobby pins onto the hair after securing the ponytail. Make sure that the ends of the pin go into and through the ponytail.
