“House of the Dragon” season 2 is almost here. While we’re waiting for the epic family drama between the Greens and the Blacks to unfold, there’s still time to join one of the fandoms. And what could be a better way to do so than trying on your favorite character’s hairstyle? So, what would it be this time, dear hair fans? Targaryen’s braids or Hightower’s waves?
Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen might not be recognized as a rightful ruler of Westeros, but she’s definitely the queen of silvery blonde manes and braided hairstyles. So, if you want to sport the same regal look but don’t have the real crown on your head, just make a braided one! Start out by gathering your front sections into a French braid.
Then, add two more braids on either side of your head and fold them over each other to make them look like a crown. Finally, wrap the third braid at the back of the head and tuck in the ends. Enjoy your braided crown look!
Prince Daemon Targaryen is a master of warrior hairstyles. And while the character is slaying his enemies, you can slay this Daemon-inspired half updo. Isolate the hair section at the top of your head first. Next, braid the center section just below it. A simple French braid will be just fine. But if you want to add more sass and drama to the look, try a fishtail braid instead. Then, tie the top layer into a ponytail and get ready to rock!
Princess Rhaenys Targaryen missed her chance to become a queen once, but you’d better not miss out on her signature rope braids that remind of the dragon’s spiked head. Here’s a more modern version of this ‘do that works great on short length. First things first, create a middle part and leave out your front sections.
Take two strands along your center parting and make tiny bubble braids. Then, take another section closer to the side of your head and twist it inwards. Repeat the process with the rest of your hair, including the front pieces. Secure those twists with bobby pins at the back. Brush your hair back for a sleek look. Ta-da! You’re ready to ride a dragon!
No judgment here, but if you happen to raise green banners instead of black ones, you’ll need the right hairstyle, too. And who could be a better inspiration for Team Green than Alicent Hightower herself! To recreate her gorgeous waves with braided elements, part your hair down the middle first and use your favorite method for creating waves.
For this look, you’ll need defined ringlets, so consider using a heatless hair roller to get overnight curls. Next, section off the front pieces and braid the hair strands just behind them. Take your front tendrils and pin them at the back of your head for the faux bangs look. Bring your braids up and fold them over to make them look like a headband. Done! Now it’s your time to shine!
Winter may not be coming for the “House of the Dragon” fans just yet. The new season will be scorching hot because the characters’ hair glam looks fire! Now, you know how to get the same look and steal the show.
