While we can’t always rely on Rihanna when it comes to dropping new music, we sure can when it comes to her slaying the hair game and bringing all the attention to her new hairstyles. Riri has always been a style chameleon, and she’s the first to admit it. As she confessed on Instagram before dropping Fenty Hair, “You know how much switching my hair up matters to me.”
We have still not recovered from a major chop at the Fenty Hair launch event, where she embraced her natural short curls with the cutest pixie cut. And that was after months of sporting long, honey blonde locks. So a pixie took us all by surprise, for sure.
But here we are in for another change. The singer and style and beauty icon flew to Paris to attend the A$AP Rocky X American Sabotage by AWGE Menswear Spring/Summer 2025 fashion show, where she turned heads sitting front-row, but not with her pixie cut, no. Rihanna’s latest hair change is something we both expected and not at the same time – long dark hair with Y2K-inspired chunky highlights.
Rihanna’s hair was blown out and styled straight with a middle part and Y2K side bangs. The color? A cool-toned dark brown shade with stripy chunky silvery highlights, totally 2000s inspired, too.
Well, Riri has admitted herself she’s tired of blonde hair, so we were expecting a switch up color wise. The length? Kind of what she was sticking to for a last couple of months with her warm blonde locks, before the latest pixie. But those highlights is what really stood out and caught our attention.
While it’s fun to play with your natural hair, Rihanna has never shied away from wearing wigs, and she does it just like a queen wears her crown. This time she’s too sporting a stunning wig, which actually looks very real. Riri is making those highlights look so good that it’s hard not to give in to temptation and try them out too.
