Do you ever have those hectic mornings when you are pressed for time, yet completely unsure of how you want your hair to look? If you’ve been there, you’ve come to the right place! We have got you covered with three creative yet simple hairstyles by Lesley Lee that will save you time, and make you appear like the regal boss you are.
Style 1
This style is all about simple yet chic elegancy. It features an afro leave out puff, held together with twisted braids on each side of the head. The best thing about this style is that it can be done with both permed and natural hair.
How to Do:
- Start by locating your sideburns and use a rat-tail comb to take a portion out from each side of the head.
- Using any extension of your choice, make smaller parts on each of the already parted sections and make a twist braid. You have to end up having two sideburns with twisted braids at each end.
- After dealing with the front part of your hair, you can just quickly braid the ends of the hair at the back 3 or 4 times and tuck them in.
- Returning to the twisted braids at either sideburn, take the twisted braids on the right, and extend it to the center of the hair, pinning it in place with a hairpin. Repeat the same steps with the braids on the left. For a more put together look, tuck in the ends of the braids.
Style 2
This updo has a very chic and mature vibe, making it a perfect choice for weddings and other formal events.
How to Do:
- Fluff your hair out using a wide-toothed comb, then go in with a rat-tail comb and make a little part from the middle.
- When you reach the end of the middle section, grab the rat-tail comb and cut diagonally towards the right up to your ear. Repeat the same step on the left side too.
- With those sections you have made, make flat twists on each side.
- Next, grab your rat-tail comb and create a neat line at the back of your hair. You can make it either small or medium-sized, depending on how voluminous you want the back to appear.
- Leaving out the part you sectioned at the back, gather up the rest of the hair, including the flat twists, and tie it all up with a hairband.
- Now take that section you left out at the back and tuck it in to create the illusion that there is no hair band.
This stunning and easy updo can be achieved in just under 10 minutes – how cool is that?
Style 3
Now for the final look, we’ve got a straightforward elevated chic bun. This style goes from a basic high Afro puff to a stylish inverted bun.
How to Do:
- Go in with your wide toothed comb and fluff your hair out to stretch it out and potentially remove any knots there may be.
- Make a middle part using your rat tail comb for precision.
- Grab your shoelace and wrap it around your hair, pulling it up to create a high puff with a smooth base.
- Now that you have a high puff up top, tie it around. Do this around four or five times, then add your favorite hair accessories to complete the look.
This style is great for casual occasions like a fun brunch with your girls, a work meeting, or even a sweet date night with your significant other if you’re feeling fancy.
