Read full bio Editorial guidelinesIt’s undeniable – Blake Lively’s hair is as much of a star as she is. From her days on Gossip Girl to her stunning red carpet appearances, her long, flowing golden waves have captured the public’s imagination. Whether styled in effortless beachy waves, ponytail, or sophisticated updo, her hair has always been a topic of fascination. So, when news broke about Blake Lively launching a beauty brand, the excitement was inevitable.
Introducing Blake Brown, Lively’s new hair care line that’s been seven years in the making. Named after her father’s surname, Blake Brown reflects a personal touch while steering clear of exploiting her celebrity status. The collection features an innovative approach that eliminates the need for a traditional conditioner, instead focusing on a system of shampoos and masks.
Blake Brown’s range includes two categories: Nourishing and Strengthening shampoos and masks. The line also boasts a leave-in potion, a dry shampoo, and a styling mousse. Despite its accessible price range – $19 to $25 – and exclusive availability at Target, the collection exudes luxury with its clean formulations, warm woody scents, and sleek, sustainable gold packaging. Above all, it mirrors Lively’s genuine passion for hair care and her grounded personality.
In a candid interview with Allure, Blake revealed her inspiration came from Kérastase, a brand she adored but found prohibitively expensive. “[Kérastase] is just so dang expensive,” she recalled, reminiscing about her early career when repairing her damaged hair cost her nearly $200. Determined to create high-quality yet affordable products, she developed Blake Brown’s range, priced at $25 or less and debuting at Target on August 4. “It took a really long time to get it right – and to get it at that price point,” she noted.
The Blake Brown collection includes two shampoos (Wild Nectar Santal Fundamental Nourishing Shampoo and Sandalwood Vanille Fundamental Strengthening Shampoo, $19 each), two masks (Wild Nectar Santal Fundamental Nourishing Mask and Sandalwood Vanille Fundamental Strengthening Mask, $20 each), a pre-shampoo treatment (Milky Sandalwood Rich Reset Pre-Shampoo Mask, $25), and three styling products (Bergamot Woods All-In-Wonder Leave-In Potion, $19, Blackcurrant Vanille Glam Mousse, $19, and Amber Vanille Dry Shampoo, $20). Interestingly, there’s no traditional conditioner in the lineup – a choice influenced by Blake’s experience on Gossip Girl, where she learned that professional stylists preferred masks over conditioners.

Made from 100% PCR materials, the geometric bottles are designed to stack neatly, blending seamlessly into any bathroom decor. Blake’s love for jewelry inspired the sleek design. Furthermore, the line is vegan and clean, free from silicones and sulfates, meeting the clean standards of Target, Sephora, and Ulta.
Each product in the Blake Brown line is richly scented, with fragrances inspired by some of Blake’s favorites, including Burberry Beat, Tokyo Milk Kabuki, and Votivo No. 96 Red Currant Candle. These scents add a nostalgic and comforting element to the products, transporting users back in time with their familiar aromas.

This vegan formula acts as a rejuvenating treatment for tired hair, restoring its vitality. Blake recommends leaving it on for 20 minutes or overnight for optimal results. The Blackcurrant Vanille Glam Mousse, another highlight, revamps classic styling methods, adding impressive volume and longevity to your hair without the need for extensions.
Blake rigorously tested the Amber Vanille Dry Shampoo, even going up to ten days without washing her hair. She was impressed with its light, beautiful finish that didn’t leave a white cast. Meanwhile, the Bergamot Woods All-In-Wonder Leave-In Potion offers detangling, shine-boosting, and conditioning benefits, all with a delightful fragrance.
With Blake Brown, Blake Lively has created a hair care line that embodies her love for luxurious yet affordable products. Each item, infused with musky, vanilla, and skin-like scents, showcases her meticulous attention to detail and desire to bring salon-quality results to everyone. As Blake puts it, “I don’t want to, like, literally smell like food, but I tend to have a bit of a gourmand palate,” making Blake Brown a sensory delight and a game-changer for your hair care routine.
Blake Brown’s debut in North American Target stores and online at Target.com is set for August 4. Prices for the line’s offerings, including shampoos, masks, dry shampoo, leave-in potion, pre-shampoo mask, and mousse, range from $18.99 to $24.99.
