Editorial Guidelines
Our team of editors and writers are always on the lookout for everything new and exciting in the world of hair. We all have genuine interest in the niche and commit to creating original, helpful and accurate content free of prejudice, bias, or preferential brands’ treatment.
In particular, we uphold the following editorial policies:
Sourcing
When sourcing information, we rely on primary sources such as expert interviews, professional social media accounts of hairstylists and hair bloggers, and professional institutions. All data points, facts and claims are backed by peer-reviewed studies, up-to-date clinical research or extensive personal experience of content creators. We view our readers’ interests as our top priority when sourcing content and avoid clickbait, making sure every article delivers what it promises in the headline.
In our reporting and sourcing, we strive to consider the perspectives from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, as well as aging and plus size women who are often underrepresented in the fashion discourse. We also aim to promote important social movements such as healthy aging and embracing gray hair, transitioning to natural hair, rethinking salon sustainability, ditching cancer-causing ingredients in relaxers, celebrating male grooming and gender-fluid haircuts, and more.
Fact-Checking
We uphold the standards of journalistic integrity and fact-check the claims and statistics included in the articles. We also make sure that writers duly cite all the direct quotes from qualified experts, without distorting or altering the original idea. We ensure proper reference for all the hairstyle ideas.
If you have noticed an issue with a specific piece of content or a wrong reference, please bring it to our attention by emailing .
Editors and Writers Ethics Code
Our editors and writers conform to standards of honest and transparent writing, independent of advertiser influence. If you visit certain links within our content, we may receive commissions from your purchases, but we do not receive compensation for choosing to feature the exact product. The decision to recommend the product in the article is based purely on personal experience of using the product or analysis of its ingredients together with consideration of the feedback of verified users.
Content on The Right Hairstyles is produced by humans, for humans, and is never automatically generated. We strive to engage only practicing or former hairstylists to content creation and have strict rules forbidding the use of AI writing tools.
Corrections and Updates
We regularly review and update our evergreen content to make sure it features fresh ideas and reflects industry trends. We do not routinely refresh stories covering daily news and trending stories. The date of the last update is displayed at the top of each article.
