Your first quiz answers might have been a guess, but your hairstyle recommendations shouldn’t. Maybe you were not totally sure about your hair texture or the selfie you uploaded was a bad hair day. Or maybe you picked “low-maintenance” when you meant “short,” and the styles and hair care tips you got reflected that mix-up more than your liking.
HairHunt 1.3.0 gives you a Beauty Profile where you can update those details whenever you need to. Change your selfie, edit your answers, switch your main hair concern, then generate nine new hairstyle picks based on your updated profile. Here’s what’s new.
The Beauty Profile page sits inside the Profile tab and gives you a clear view of the hair data the app is working from. Your selfie lives at the top, with a camera icon that lets you swap it out at any time.
Below that, you’ll see your Hair DNA, the quiz answers for length, texture, thickness, and face shape, and your Style Preferences, including your dream length and style vibe.
All of it is editable. Just tap the pencil icon next to any section and your answers update in place. There’s no need to delete the app or start from scratch.
Once you’ve made changes, the app prompts you to generate a new set of nine recommendations based on your updated profile. The new batch will reflect your current hair situation.
Your selfie is the input the AI uses to generate previews. A photo taken in bad lighting, at a strange angle, or with your hair already styled a particular way can pull the results in a direction you didn’t intend. The camera icon on the Beauty Profile page lets you upload a cleaner shot anytime.
For the best results: use a front-facing photo in natural light, keep your hair out of your face, and aim for a neutral expression. The cleaner the input, the more accurate the try-on preview.
One of the more practical additions in 1.3.0 is the ability to change your main hair concern, the issue you want your Hair Care Plan to focus on. Whether that’s frizz, breakage, dryness, thinning, or dandruff, this setting shapes the product recommendations and routines the app builds for you.
Hair priorities shift, we all know that. Someone who spent months focused on fixing heat damage might move on to growth once their ends are in better shape. Someone dealing with postpartum thinning might shift focus as their hair fills back in.
The ability to update that concern directly from your profile means your Hair Care Plan can shift with you, rather than staying locked to whatever you answered at setup.
Scroll to the bottom of your Beauty Profile and you’ll find a curated section of hairstyles pulled from the try-on gallery. These are filtered to match your hair type and your preferred length. It works alongside the main try-on gallery, giving you one more entry point into styles that are matched to your profile data.
The filters are now split into Men’s and Women’s hairstyles, which keeps the browsing experience cleaner and more relevant depending on what you’re looking for. And for the first time, you can apply multiple filters at once, so searching for long plus curly styles, or short and straight, gives you a targeted result set instead of a broad list you have to scroll through.
That combination filtering is more useful than it sounds. If you’ve been thinking about cutting your long hair short, you can filter for short cuts specifically and see a full gallery of options before you decide anything.
Open the Try On tab and look for the filter row at the top. Select Male or Female to start, then toggle the length and texture filters you want to combine. The gallery updates in real time as you apply filters, so you can add and remove them as you narrow down what you’re looking for.
If you’re working out what length suits your face before your next appointment, the filter system is a fast way to compare options. Pair it with the face shape guide to narrow down styles that will work for your bone structure.
The Home screen got a small but useful update too. The profile section that previously sat at the top of the Home page now shows a settings icon. You can easily check your remaining try-ons by clicking on it.
If you used HairHunt when it first launched and haven’t revisited it since, this is a good reason to go back. The recommendations you got at setup were based on your preferences at that point. Your Beauty Profile lets you update it.
If you’ve been thinking about a change, maybe you’re finally considering going shorter, or you want to see what long hair looks like on you before you start growing it out, adjusting your quiz answers and generating a new set of nine gives you a concrete visual to work with.

Yes! New recommendations are simply added to My Styles. Your old recommendations won’t be replaced or deleted, so you can access all your favorite looks in one place.

Yes. Your selfie and your quiz answers are independent. You can swap your photo, change your hair concern, or update your style preferences individually.
Select your gender filter first, then toggle any length and texture filters you want to apply together. The gallery shows results that match all of your selected filters at once. To reset, deselect the filters one by one.
Go to your Beauty Profile and update the main hair concern setting. Your Hair Care Plan will adjust to reflect the new focus. You don’t need to delete your account or reinstall the app.
Yes. The style recommendations shown at the bottom of your Beauty Profile pull from the try-on gallery based on your current hair type and preferred length settings. When you update those answers, the picks update to match.
