Are you one of those lucky women who have gorgeous curly hair? But have you ever had problems dealing with it… wished you had straight hair instead of curls? If your answer is yes, this article is definitely worth your attention!

First and foremost, we want to congratulate you – you are one special lady. Curly hair is that kind of things you can be proud of. Even though, it is sometimes hard to deal with. So, we’ve made a little research and now we have some valuable tips and tricks for curly hair.

  1. Put away your brushes. Always use your fingers to comb through hair that is wet! It’s a good idea to use a conditioner or spray.
  2. Watch out how much stuff you use. Over-washing, leaving too much conditioner or using alcohol-filled gels can give your curls a crunchy look.
  3. Hands off. Don’t interrupt your hair while it is drying. Otherwise, it will frizz up.
  4. It is all about details. For natural looking, and healthy curls use only a defining or styling gel that is alcohol/silicone-free, and water-soluble. So, it will remain in your hair for 2-3 days. Isn’t it awesome?
  5. Do not break your hair. Always remember to remove your hair from your shoulders before slinging on your backpack or bag.
  6. Keep your ends trimmed to avoid split ends. Split ends will never make you hair good-looking. If you want healthy curls that look bouncy and fresh, you should visit your hairstylist every six or eight weeks for a quick trim.
  7. Use only a wide-tooth comb to detangle your curls, NEVER use a brush. Curly hair is the most fragile type of hair on the block, and each curl has a potential breaking point. So, using a wide-tooth comb is the best way to detangle curls, and it doesn’t disrupt the natural curl pattern as much as a brush would. And do not forget to start at the bottom!
  8. Use the “pineapple” trick to tie your curls overnight. Pineappling is a ‘do with hair loosely gathered at the highest point of the head, usually before sleep. This protects the curl pattern while helping your hair maintain its natural volume. Simply take it out when you’re ready to wear your hair down.
  9. Hydrate. It is a perfect idea to buy a top-quality humidifier for your home. A humidifier will encourage curls and keep your hair and skin from drying out!
  10. Pin up. For a curlier look on dry or second-day hair, try the pin method. Work with slightly wet hair. Starting at the crown, wrap a section of hair around your finger, hold the coil with your other hand and pin the curl down. After the hair is dry, gently remove the hair pins and loosen the curls with your fingers. Finish with a tilt and scrunch.
